Eleven Pipers Piping

Patience. This is my third time writing this post.

So, did you know that the 12 Days of Christmas was written as a catechism song? Each day represents a biblical number (one baby Jesus, four Gospels, five books of the Pentateuch, etc.). Even though the twelve days of Christmas are technically those between the 25th and Epiphany on the 2nd, on our Christmas countdown we're on day eleven. Today's eleven pipers piping represents the eleven faithful disciples. And as Young Life leaders, we do our best to follow Jesus in all things - like the apostles. And as we recently welcomed ten new YL leaders, I thought this would be a great time to share them with the interwebs! Here are some team pictures from Commissioning last Sunday - new leaders are in red.

Sun Prairie Young Life & Wyldlife:

Front: Mike, Lauren, Melissa, Ashley, Grace, Callie, Katherine, Nicole. Back: Molly, Cecily, Dan, Tyler, Patrick, & Dan. Plus Maggie who couldn't make it!

Mount Horeb Young Life & Wyldlife:

Front: Jessica, Laura, Erin, Claire. Back: Al, Sarah, Brandon, Nate, Matt, Sue, Kellen.

Verona Wyldlife (& Soon-to-be Young Life!): no picture yet. (!? How did we not manage to grab a picture of you all?!) However, the new leaders commissioned there were Emily K, Emily Q, & Tyler. Their teammates, pictured here from last May, are front: Ethan, Abbie, Sarah, Danielle, Rhyo; back: Quinn, Alex, Ricardo, Jared, Michael, & Chris.

What's so great about Young Life in Dane County is that it is so big, we're missing a ton of leaders on these lists (like both Becky - who's in SPWL- and I -Young Life College - for starters)! I feel so blessed to be surrounded by such a God-centered community.

"You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven." - Matthew 5:14-16
